While I’m not happy about the customs brokerage fees, i think that should be factor into the purchase total if shipping internationally. However, the sunglasses, I absolutely adore! Great quality, stylish and exactly what I wanted.
As someone who considers himself an Italian brand aficionado, I’ve always admired the craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail that Italy is known for. My wardrobe and accessories feature brands like KOIO (sneakers), Piquadro (wallets, rain jackets), Bernabei and Persol (sunglasses), all of which have consistently delivered a premium, satisfying experience.
That’s why I had very high expectations for the Lapel Earth Bio Bottle Green sunglasses from TBD Eyewear—especially as I follow Fabio Attanasio and regard him as a personal style reference. Unfortunately, these sunglasses didn’t live up to that standard.
The sustainable ethos is commendable, but the execution fell short. The green box arrived damaged, the case material felt underwhelming, and the frame itself was so light it came across as “cheap” rather than refined or truly handcrafted. Even the lenses felt loosely fitted, occasionally making a slight cracking sound.
I used TBD’s online fit guide and virtual try-on, yet the sunglasses still felt slightly larger than the “recommended” size. Overall, they lacked the tactile satisfaction and solid build I’ve come to expect from Italian brands, leaving me more disappointed than inspired.

These Sunglasses are amazing. The acetate Frame looks and feels amazing. You get a premium product which doesn’t need branding to show its quality. Amazing what TBD Eyewear does so proud to wear one pair of theirs.

Bought these as a birthday gift for my daughter. She loved them! They were a great fit.. and are very stylish and well made.
but considering that they have small lenses and are esigned for a narrower face, they seemed to have been stretched out for a much larger head. They required adjustment from a local optician to tighten the temples and also to straighten the glasses.

However, as acetate is a “living” material, international shipping and handling during transit can sometimes slightly affect their shape.
Our frames are available in one size per model, but they can be easily adjusted to better fit different face shapes. We truly appreciate you taking the initiative to have them adjusted locally, and we hope you’re now happy with your sunglasses.
